About Sir Iain:
Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP was elected as a Conservative MP in the 1992 general election and became leader of the party less than 10 years later in 2001. After stepping down as leader of the opposition, Sir Iain continued to serve as an MP and was given a cabinet position in 2010. Between 2010-2016, Sir Iain served as Secretary of State for the Department for Work and Pensions. Alongside his long Parliamentary career, Sir Iain has pursued areas of interest ranging from challenging China to campaigning for Social Justice. Sir Iain is a founder of the Inter-parliamentary Alliance on China and a founder of his own think tank, the Centre for Social Justice.
