About Lord Walney:

John Woodcock, Baron Walney serves as the government’s independent adviser on political violence and disruption, and a crossbencher in the House of Lords. He previously represented Barrow and Furness as their member of parliament, first as a Labour MP, but later as an independent, resigning from Labour in protest of Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the party. During his time as an MP, Lord Walney served as Chair of Labour Friends of Israel.
